Remember the picture of gas (petrol) prices in New Zealand. It would be great if it was per gallon, but no. It comes by the liter. I filled up my rental car today before I turned it in – 46 liters for $91 NZ. That converts to about 12 gallons for $61 US.
Then it was a quick flight to Christchurch and check-in at the Distinction Hotel. It was cloudy and rainy and the perfect time for a walk dressed in my rain gear. It was a wonderful adventurous decision. Tomorrow it is off to Mt Cook.
