Zipline??

Jim Geiger ziplining in New Zealand

I woke up this morning and had no idea what I was getting myself into, but I was game. Today was zipline day.

The company I was about to sign my life over to is Rotorua Canopy Tours. Martin, our head guide, and Courtney, assistant guide, took us around an incredible course without mishap. The course snaked its way through a virgin-old-growth forest. We were sometimes 70 feet above the forest floor as we zipped around. At one of the zip points, we all stopped and stared. Our landing point was 700 feet away. We all made it and high-fived each other. What a great group of people.

I started the day quite apprehensive but finished strong wishing there was more. It was an incredible experience. Martin and Courtney did an awesome job.

Once back at the Regent Rotorua I soaked in the spa and called it a day. Off to Christchurch tomorrow.
